MASTER’s LEVEL SOCIAL WORKER or PSYCHOLOGIST WITH FOCUSED INTEREST IN TRAUMA-FOCUSED THERAPY/CHILD MALTREATMENT

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) invites applications for a master’s level mental health therapist for the Family Treatment Program.

Program Details:

  • Position offers candidate opportunity to work and learn alongside a seasoned and established group of mental health professionals providing specialized care to victims of child sexual abuse, their families and youth who have offended on youth
  • Employment is via the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Department of Pediatrics, Section for Children at Risk. Practice location is in the Clark Center for Safe and Healthy Children on the campus of AR Children’s Hospital.
  • The Clark Center was specifically designed to serve as a trauma-informed center for coordination of needed services for child maltreatment victims and their families. Family Treatment Program is co-located with the child abuse medical clinic, children’s advocacy center for Pulaski county and UAMS Child and Adolescent Psychiatry program on the campus of AR Children’s Hospital
  • Strong funding through state contracts + support of ACH leadership/Foundation embracing the importance of recognizing and addressing adverse childhood experiences
  • Long-standing, successful relationship with the University of Central Arkansas Psychology Doctoral Training Program and UALR School of Social Work for placement of practicum students/interns

Qualified applicants will have a Master’s Degree in in Social Work, Psychology or related field. Must be licensed in a mental health field, and have experience working with children and families. Additionally, candidates must pass a background check and be eligible for professional licensure to practice in Arkansas.

Requirements
