Helping Immigrants Thrive (HimT) is a new nonprofit organization striving to support the undocumented immigrant community in New York City in their journey to financial self-sufficiency, independence, and a brighter future with dignity.

As a pilot project HImT is collaborating with a partner organization, El Nido de Esperanza (El Nido), which seeks to disrupt the cycle of poverty by changing the first 1,000 days of a child’s life through an early, intensive two-generation approach. (Parent-and-baby.) Both organizations have partnered to serve undocumented immigrant families in Washington Heights. Currently, El Nido has identified ten undocumented families that HImT will work with more intensively to determine specific needs for legal, health, job, housing, and/or other assistance.
